In fact, I don't even have to leave the keyboard to use Eon. Customizable keyboard shortcuts make it very convenient for switching between tasks/projects. I also like the fact that if I take on a client that wants me to track time with their service, it's unlikely that I'll have to go looking for another timer.ģ. Because I work with multiple companies, I have to log time into multiple Freshbooks accounts. It works as a standalone time tracker as well as integrating with external systems. Here are the top 3 things I like most about Eon.ġ.
This app has become required software for every developer in our shop. But we use YouTrack for reports, so it hasn’t been an issue for us. The “Log” feature is a little wonky … the few times I tried to use it I couldn’t match the times recorded to anything useful. By using a combination of “custom filters” and multiple YouTrack “accounts”, I am able to set up projects for my open issues, my team’s open issues and even issues with custom statuses that we’ve set up in YouTrack. Some of the features are quite powerful, and not immediately apparent … such as the “custom filter” feature in the “edit account” window for YouTrack accounts. Since I work on multiple issues, I like how easy it is to start and stop the timer and switch between YouTrack issues as I go.
It’s a solid timer by itself, but the YouTrack integration makes this an outstanding app in my book. Twitter: team (software developers) has been using this app for the past 8 months.
